Class Schedule
The basic cave rescue seminar
is designed to familiarize cavers and rescue personnel with the basic
aspects of cave rescue. The Saturday session will consist of a mix of
lectures, multimedia presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on practice.
Topics include (but are not limited to) an introduction to the cave environment,
patient evaluation and first aid, rescue management, communications and
patient packaging. Saturday afternoon will include a practice patient
evacuation through outdoor obstacle courses - be sure to wear appropriate
clothing!
On Sunday, your newly-acquired skills will be put to the test. A mock
rescue will be held in Glenwood Caverns - plan on a full day underground,
filled with mental and physical challenges!
